Odissi Indian Dance : Odissi Dancing: Poetry Dance
I felt overwhelmed with communication in this video. Not only can the viewer interpret the poem and movement, but also the gestures (especially of the hand) that most traditional Indian dance utilize. Maybe the hand gestures deliver the poem in another form? Or maybe the hand gestures describe something different? After watching this video I also realized how much communication is through setting and costuming. It was interesting to notice that communication can occur through any media, even if it is not part of your culture.
